She was a friend of a friend

To live her life in salted air

I was not the same
I had no mind for dreams
Content to live where I was wrung

Of all the beauty and the colour in the world
How the sky was much more beautiful when greyed with clouds
And how the trees were that much prettier once their leaves had gone

So she sang, every not she knew
And the field were full of sun and skies were blue
So she sang, and the universe replied the same tune
And the future seemed so bright for life in two

The sea

A life began in sprint
Taking risks being reckless living free
But 'fore long
Began to tire
And lost sight if our dreams

We settled into life
The monotony was pleasant for a while
Then with all things repetition
Stole away our time

A life had passed us by
With the curtains closing sooner everyday
Now the grey had taken hold
And the trees were standing naked in the snow

So I sang
Every note I knew
To the stars and to the heavens
Silent behind the moon

And cursed the seas for two
If only we had sprinted further still
