lines and curves

Too much paper
Pressed so thin
I've too much of myself
Tied up in this
Rope of ink
Lines and curves
Chains of script
Written under the moon
Friend of mine
Stood in place
Watching tides
writing plays
Chasing doves
That couldn't fly
If you catch one
Try to ask it why
Tell me painter
It's a wonder to see
All this colour
Does it ever seem free
I'm beginning to fear
The cost of our choice
To Trace out the world
And colour it in
I've been waiting
For something to change
But fearing the outcome
I idled my days
Thinking of words
To say how I feel
Pen it to page
And conquer a fear
But I'm not good with the truth
Or so I say

robot boy

There's a little robot boy, Living on a boat
Washed up on a hillside, Waiting for the tide to come
To him it's all the same, It's all that ever was
But if you visit him you'll see
What used to be and could have been
If he wasn't so afraid of getting wet
Moving on too quickly
Shouldn't hurry round the bend
Illusions of a victory
Faulty triumphs shared with friends
He's turning into people
Wishing kisses at the sun
Alarmed awake
Bedroom mimic'ig a grave
I wish traditions weren't so easy
To fall into our lives
Circles of behaviour
Cycling round and round
To brave the pain of lasting pictures
As traditions fall apart
Every sting is a reminder
Of a yesterday well spent
There's a little robot boy,
Staring at the sun
Thinking of the future,
hoping it might never come
Fearful of a change that's already
Shown it's face
It's so beautiful in sunlight
Why does he always run away
